This story is truly one of the most unexpected blessings of my life. Growing up in Birmingham, Alabama, I have always had a heart for art and nature. Upon graduating from Auburn University, I realized I wanted to share my love for art with others. While attending graduate school at the University of Montevallo and studying to become a Speech-Language Pathologist, I began a small art company with my talented friend, Michelle Dailey.

In 2015, my husband Wilson and I made the move to Florence, Alabama, where we happily reside now. With the hope to connect to our local town in a deeper way, MeadowsMade was created.

For a while, I just painted to survive. We were newly married with debt, in a new town with no friends or family.. art lacked purpose and I so desperately craved to be used by God with these talents.

A close friend had a miscarriage, and I wanted to give her something meaningful to represent her little one. It started with one “Angel Baby” & grew to “Valleys” & “Rainbow Baby” within hours. Mother’s Day was around the corner & 10 of each paintings were sold in a mini sale on Instagram. Every “Angel Baby” was a different color & as the messages rolled in to claim these angels, not one person requested the same color. It was as if each “Angel Baby” spoke to a different mother. There was a special anointing on that first sale & I knew God had called MeadowsMade to the avenue of healing art for those mamas.

Healing art is a creative way to promote coping, growth, healing and validity. These pieces allow art to represent a loved one or difficult season.

Each piece represents a different path to healing but ultimately it is about what resonates with you. Healing Art allows a painting to remind you of a loved one, a time of hope, or even a fulfilled promise.

The goal is to meet each person where they are on the healing journey and come along side with a piece that speaks to the road of healing.

As a Believer, we are called to usher in the comfort that comes from the Holy Spirit. The purpose of Healing Art is to facilitate that comfort and be the hands & feet of Jesus.

I currently work part-time at a pediatric private practice as an SLP. I chose speech therapy as my career in order to cater to both my creativity and desire to help others. My husband and I have three children: Emmett (6 years), John Wilson (4 years) and Elsie (1 year).

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.
